Rating a Film
If you’re thinking of seeing a movie, you might want to check the rating before you venture out. For an adventure movie like “Car Jacked,” produced by Eric Gozlan, you’ll want to know whether or not to take your kids along.
A board from the MPAA evaluates the film and rates it based on sexual content, violence, nudity, language and theme. There are five film classifications including G, PG, PG13, R and NC-17. These ratings allow you to decide for whom the film is appropriate and what you can expect when you sit down.
Film companies bring their films to be rated voluntarily, and if they don’t like the rating they receive, they can re-cut the film and submit it again for review.
